Smart cities offer significant business opportunities to Spanish SMES, as visitors to the trade fair will see home | see all news

Spanish companies, particularly SMES in the sector of technology applied to infrastructure and services for cities, have some attractive opportunities to do business and grow in the smart cities market, as you will see at URBÓTICA and MATELEC.

A seminar held in Madrid revealed the prospects for these companies in the Latin American smart city market, mainly due to the Spain's excellent image in digital transformation of cities and the existence of large Spanish companies established in this area.

According to the consultancy firm, Markets & Markets, this sector will grow at an annual rate of 19.4% to reach 757.740 million in 2020.

For the next few years countries such as Brazil, Colombia, Mexico and Peru, among others, are planning invest in the promotion of innovative ecosystems for smart cities worth millions of dollars, with integrated projects focused on improving infrastructures, transport, safety, efficient management of buildings such as hotels and shopping malls and everything connected with efficient, sustainable control of energy resources.
